Puppy With Birth Defect Escapes Euthanasia and Beats All Odds

Aug 26 2016 - 1:30pm

Bronson the puppy wasn't supposed to live. The chocolate Labrador Retriever was born with a cleft palate in a litter of nine, and his owners opted to have him euthanized as most puppies born with cleft palates don't live very long. The cleft palate makes eating very difficult for puppies, and oftentimes they starve to death. One vet tech, however, wanted to give Bronson a chance. She took the puppy home and watched him practically 24/7 to make sure he was eating and his cleft palate wasn't causing him any trouble. She documented their lives for a year, showing Bronson growing bigger and eventually getting surgery on his mouth. Scroll through the gallery to see their incredible story.
