Instant Subscribe Sumo the Dog PetSugar: When did you get your dog and what's his breed? j-and-l: Sumo, an English brindle bulldog, is actually our grandson. He's now five and what a joy! Sumo keeping cool PetSugar: What's your daily doggie routine? j-and-l: We've been fortunate to have him pretty much continually since he was a pup. He loves those doggie treats which have helped him become well-trained. He also loves to play either with his toys or the cats or us. When not playing (or snacking of course) he is sleeping/snoring in his "bedroom" i.e., his crate/cage which is his "happy" place. Leroy stretching out for a long nap PetSugar: When did you get your cat and what's his breed? j-and-l: We got Leroy from the shelter at four months, a tiny little thing. He's now one year, still kind of short legged and possibly descended from the Maine Coon. Leroy and Shee PetSugar: What's your daily kitty routine? j-and-l: Leroy flies around the house like a bushy tailed squirrel. His mission is to entertain/harass us and our other cat, Shee, and our English bulldog, Sumo. Leroy and the Polar Bear PetSugar: What is your pets' favorite pastime? j-and-l: In the morning Leroy sits with Sumo awaiting his AM treat! Then he spends the day alternating between flying around the house like a banshee, playing with his toys, annoying and/or playing with Shee cat and Sumo or maybe just passed out in a deep sleep. Leroy will "sit" on command for a treat! He is a riot! We went to the shelter to find a companion for our Shee cat and ended up with this wonderful loving addition to our family. Best Friends PetSugar: What was your all-time favorite moment with your pets? j-and-l: One of our favorite moments with Sumo was at the dog park. He was running with the big dogs! Now English bulldogs are pretty quick and Sumo was gallantly trying to keep up with the pack as they ran around the fenced perimeter of this huge field. When Sumo realized they were pulling away from him, still running at his max speed, he cut directly across the field and intercepted the pack as they came around. You could almost hear him laughing, he was so proud to have caught up. A true English bulldog in action!
