Which Personality Does Your Cat Have?

We've had several recent tales at Sugar HQ of beloved kitties gone missing. Sad. When checking at area shelters, one staffer got a handout with "search strategies" that she was kind enough to share. It lists four types of cats . . . and four different ways to seek them, if they should go missing. Since I'm hoping your pets are still safe at home, check out these descriptions to see which fits Fluffy best.

  • Curious clown. This cat loves exploring anything and anyone . . . and wants to be on the move to investigate.
  • Care-less kitty. These felines are a touch aloof, but observing nonetheless. They may not react to company – positively or negatively – but wander short distances nearby.
  • Cautious cat. Stable yet sometimes shy, they may hide in fear but generally can be coaxed out for meet and greets.
  • Xenophobic feline. Disliking all things out of the ordinary, these kits may never even come out to greet your friends, instead seeking shelter in a quiet room to stay alone.

my cat is a curious clown my parents have never been very good at holding pets. I always knew how to carry a dog or cat since a young age but my cat will only let me really hold on to him like a baby on his back and I kiss his belly. if my parents try he always squirms and runs away.

Team Bella is having a tough week! One Bella's lost kitty has been found, but another Bella's kitty is still missing. (Be on the lookout, Oakland!) :(

I am not sure... I think care free. He loves to roam in the backyard, etc. But he can get spooked easily. He also will come to company if he is hungry. But other times he stays hidden.

Definitely curious and friendly. He wants to love on everyone! I'm always a little surprised since he was a stray living on a little beach island before he adopted us, but he was approachable from the start.

Aggie: Hurricane Katrian cat, totally shy and skittish. Poe: friendly but not overly so Catone: crazed friendly cat that will greet everyone at the door. :)

My cat Dexter is more like a dog/human. He loves to socialize and be petted, as well as give kisses to anyone who will take them. He has a big personality/presence - he even chased a dog who dared to try and cross his cat partner, Deuce. Deuce, on the other hand, is a total feline - a cross between careless and cautious.

mine runs from everything! she's even scared of laser pointers, so when people want to make friends with her they have to sit on the floor as still as possible and let her come up to them. and if they move at all, she bolts.

My cat is a care-less. She'll usually end up coming to the company wanting to be petted, but they had better not try to pick her up. That just makes her mad.
