Jill Biden Says She's Been "Obsessed" With Helping Champ and Major Adjust to Life at the White House

First Lady Jill Biden has been busy getting her family's German shepherds [1] — Champ, 12, and Major, 2 — accustomed to their new home! In an interview for The Kelly Clarkson [2] Show, Jill walked the White House grounds with Kelly [3] and introduced her to the pups.

After petting Major for a moment, Kelly asked Jill if any areas of the house are off-limits. "They're not allowed on the furniture," Jill said with a laugh. "But of course, Major, I caught him on the couch the other day. But he quickly jumped down. They run all over, which is so nice."

Kelly and Jill also sat down to discuss how Jill has been helping Champ and Major get into their new routine [5]. "I've been obsessed with getting our dogs settled, because we have an old dog and we have a very young dog," she explained. "They have to take the elevator, they're not used to that. They have to go out on the South Lawn with lots of people watching them. . . . So that's what I've been obsessed with, just getting everybody settled and calm."

Although they don't have a go-to hangout spot just yet, Champ and Major make it a point to stay close to their humans. "They don't have a favorite spot. They like to be wherever we are," she said. "Even if my door's closed, they're sitting right outside the door like, 'Let me in! Let me in!'"
