Coco Jones Needs This Y2K Phone to Survive on Tour — Plus 3 Other Must Haves

May 8 2025 - 2:45pm

Coco Jones [1] has been in the music game [2] for a minute. If you're a longtime fan, maybe you were first introduced to her through Disney channel's "Let It Shine." Or perhaps it was her Grammy Award-winning single "ICU" that captivated your attention. But she hasn't launched a debut studio album until right now — it's been all singles and EPs in the past.

I recently sat down with Jones to talk about her partnership with Motorola [3], as well as the album, and I got to ask her the inevitable question: why now?

"I think me and my team had the ability to really plan and give it the forethought that it deserved — and I also think I had enough songs that I loved," Jones tells PS. There's a renewed element of independence with this album. Take the album's title itself: "Why Not More?" It alludes to the musicality and genre bending that she's infused throughout the 14 tracks. From Jones's "Taste," a sample of Britney Spears [4]'s "Toxic," to "Most Beautiful Design" featuring Future, the singer showcases her range, seamlessly meshing pop and trap-soul sensibilities with her R&B DNA.

She's eager for her fans to listen to it all as she heads out on the "Why Not More?" tour across the US and Europe. "I'm most excited to connect with my fans in person and to see real-time reactions to the songs, to see what people love, to see what people like really are drawn to, and to talk to them," Jones says.

That said, tour prep has been "intense" to say the least — "but it's nothing that I feel like I'm not ready for," Jones says. The singer has taken a page out of Beyoncé's and Taylor Swift's tour-prep playbooks [5], telling PS that she likes to sing while working out and hitting the treadmill [6]. "[That way], you're low-key on tour before the tour starts," Jones says.

Fitness isn't the only thing she counts on to keep her consistent and grounded while on the road and in her day-to-day. She also has a few must-have products and tools that she uses to prioritize her health and wellness. Keep scrolling to learn more about her essentials.

Coco Jones's Nighttime Must-Have

Calm App [7] (Free)

When it comes to settling down at the end of the day, Jones relies on the Calm app to quiet her mind and thoughts. Mental health is "super important for me," Jones says. As she's listening to a mediation or soundscape, the 27-year-old will often take the time to write down her thoughts. "I love journaling . . . taking the time to really be in tune with yourself," she says.

Coco Jones's Tech Must-Have

Motorola Razr Ultra [8] ($1,300, originally $1,500)

Jones has partnered with Motorola in bringing back their iconic Razr phone — yes, the Y2K flip phone hat once determined every millennial's middle school status level. The latest version has been given a major next-gen upgrade though, including the "tent mode," which allows users to create content handsfree.

"I feel like I'm able to capture so many amazing tour memories. And also, I definitely love using the tent mode to finish up my makeup and take a couple selfies of my outfit," Jones says.

Coco Jones's Luxury Must-Have

Press-On Nails (Priceless)
Unfortunately, Jones's exact luxury must-have can't be bought. They're her press-on nails. "I get them custom made . . . I have a bunch of them. They all go with different outfits for the tour," she says. We did some digging, though, and it looks Jones like has worked with celebrity nail artist Temeka Jackson [9] in the past, so if you're looking to mimic one of Jones's looks, she's your girl.

Coco Jones's Fitness Must-Have

Alo Airlift High-Waist 7/8 Line Up Legging [10] ($138)

For Jones, a comfortable pair of leggings are a must for rehearsals and gym sessions. "I'm trying to be comfy, but still get that work in," she says. While she struggled to choose just one favorite pair (we get it!), the singer was spotted in the Alo Airlift High-Waist 7/8 Line Up Leggings and Airlift Line Up Bra [11] ($88) during one of her treadmill training sessions [12].
