Frank Green’s New Drink Bottle Isn’t Just Cute, It Helps Funds Ocean Clean-ups

Jun 9 2025 - 8:56pm

Your work water cooler chats are about to get a lot more interesting thanks to Frank Green's new release, Poseidon Chrome. The metallic aquamarine bottle's not only visually striking enough to start a conversation, it also has a cool backstory you'll want to share.

Announced on World Ocean Day (June 8), the Poseidon Chrome's a collaboration between Frank Green and environmental organisation Parley for the Ocean. The group works to clean up our oceans by funding projects in community education, plastic interception, material innovation and eco-activism across 28 countries.

The bottle's available for a limited time, in size 34oz. Profits from its sales will go to Parley for the Ocean and, in turn, ocean clean-up projects. Something else that'll make you feel great about using it: the bottle's made using at least 90% recycled stainless steel. Don't think that means it won't last, though – it's also got Frank Green's signature ceramic lining.

"Every second breath we take comes from the ocean – yet it's drowning in plastic," says Benjamin Young, Frank Green's founder and CEO. "We're here to change that, one beautiful, purposeful bottle at a time."

To date, Frank Green's customers have bought products to raise over $460,000 for Parley for the Oceans. Last year, Parley Australia led several large-scale cleanups across the Great Barrier Reef, removing harmful debris from some of the world's most fragile marine ecosystems.

At the time, Frank Green showed it wasn't all just talk – its staff joined local volunteers for the cleanup activations. These efforts expanded into flood recovery operations, outreach in Indigenous communities and youth education events, showing the ripple effect of aligned purpose and action.

Young describes the Poseidon Chrome as a real-world intervention in the escalating marine plastic crisis. He stresses that by simply grabbing it, you too can join the growing global movement of cleaning up our oceans – amplifying awareness of its dire current situation, funding frontline efforts and replacing single-use plastics with long-lasting alternatives.

"By 2050, plastic could outweigh fish in our oceans," Young says. "That's not a distant problem. It's already happening. To be frank, we can – and must – do better."

Nab your Poseidon Chrome 34oz from Frank Green's site here [1] (it's currently sold out, so keep your eyes peeled for a restock) or from select Frank Green retailers from July 1.
