No matter where we're traveling to, there are a few staples [1] that consistently make their way into our suitcases. Whether it's a favorite jacket or a signature scent, there are some things we just don't think about when we're getting ready to jet off. For me, Alo Yoga's Moto Legging [2] ($110) is my ride-or-die, never-fail travel pant [3].

Growing up, I was never allowed to travel in sweatpants. It came from my grandparents; in their day, airline travel was glamorous, and you were meant to look pulled together as a sign of respect. I never questioned it, and actually took pride in the way I looked at the airport. However, a few years ago I was getting on an 11-hour overnight flight with my family, and I wanted to be comfortable. This, mind you, was in the early days of athleisure [4], but I'd just bought these leggings that looked like biker pants, and my mother begrudgingly agreed to let me travel in them. Paired with black boots, a white t-shirt, and a big jacket, they appeared no different from a legitimate pair of motorcycle pants. I still looked stylish, but I was seriously comfortable for the entire flight.

I cannot say enough good things about these leggings. They're cute, comfortable, and functional; should you want to take a spontaneous long walk through a new city or hit up a popular workout class, you've got a pair of leggings with you. Alo makes this style in a bunch of colors, along with sports bras to match, but I'm partial to the black hue because they're so versatile. I feel comfortable wearing them pretty much anywhere, and they're super flattering on. Honestly, after writing all of this, I'm investing in a second pair.
