Book a Southwest Special Fare to Fly This Winter

Book a Southwest Special Fare Today to Fly This Winter

This week our favorite fee-free airline, Southwest, launched a fare sale that includes holiday travel. The Winter special offers one-way tickets for $49-109 (Monday-Thursday and Saturday) or $59-159 (Friday and Sunday). You must book your ticket by midnight tonight (Nov. 13) and travel between Dec. 2, 2008, and Feb. 11, 2009.

That time period frames the holidays just perfectly, so if you were skipping the family gathering this year because of escalated airfare, this may be an opportunity to reconsider. And that ski trip you were on the fence about? Seems like you may be able to afford it, after all.

someone i know was talking about this the other day and that's just amazing. too bad they don't have easy flights for me to go to the places that i'm planning to travel but i guess that's the sacrifice that i'd have to make for a good deal.

southwest def isn't posh, but it's so much cheaper than other options (for where we live and where we go) that we always fly it. husband and I are flying round-trip for christmas for just over $600, which I didn't think was bad for the holidays.

I did, Renees3, but I need Dec 30 - Jan 2. I'm very much doubting I'm going to come in under $500. :(

my sister is coming the first week of Jan and there were plenty of the $49 rates, the more in the afternoon the more expensive it looked like. Try checking on different days maybe

Ok. So I went there, selected travel dates that all coincided with their "restrictions" and the cheapest selection was $183!!! (For a one way ticket) I thought it was supposed to be between $49 and $109. Bummer.
