Never take the first offer. The manager initially said the best she could offer me was a 10 percent discount, but I gave her an incredulous look and said that I would like a better price or have it returned. She then offered a $300 pricing, but I said I wanted it for $200 because there would still be a blemish even after it's fixed. We came to a compromise of $250, which was actually the price I had in mind to begin with (score!). Haggling is an art, so do it with some grace or you'll end up frustrating the other party and losing the deal.
