These DIY Lavender-and-Peppermint Shower Tablets Will Soothe Your Holiday Stress

Dec 12 2019 - 1:30am

Find a little time to unwind [1] with the soothing scent of these aromatherapy [2] shower tablets. Designed to relieve tension and provide headache relief, the tablets will release the natural scents of lavender and peppermint oils to instantly remind you of a relaxing day at the spa. Place one or two tablets on the floor of your shower/tub, and let the water from your shower head do all the work. The tablets are super easy to make, and would make a great DIY holiday gift [3] to share with friends and loved ones.

Here's what you'll need:

Get the step-by-step instructions ahead.

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Measure 2 cups baking soda and pour into a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup water to the baking soda. Mix thoroughly. Ensure the texture of the mixture is similar to wet sand.

Step 2

Spoon the mixture into the silicon molds, or you could use paper cupcake liners. Place the molds/liners onto a baking tray or into cupcake pan.

Place the pan onto the middle oven rack, and allow the tablets to bake for 15 to 17 minutes.

Step 3

Add 5 to 6 drops of each oil type to the tablets.

Step 4

Once the tablets have completely cooled, remove them from the molds.

Step 5

While showering, place 1 to 2 tablets on the floor of your tub, and allow warm water to melt them and release the vapor.

If you're planning on gifting the tablets, pop the tablets into a mason jar and add some decorative touches, and you're ready to hand them off as gifts to loved ones!
