Have You Ever Been Fired From a Job?

No, thank goodness!!! Though I did quit a job basically without telling anyone, so I'm sure they termed me "unrehireable." Which is fine by me because I hated it. I mostly hated that I said "I'd like to work 15-20 hours a week, MAX" and the store manager tried to get me on as a manager-in-training, and wanted me to work 44+ hours one week. Um no. And before I left, I talked to him twice about wanting less hours and he was all "oh, just try it this week, it won't be so bad." What part about- NO, I just quit a full time job, I want to focus on school, did he not understand?! And of course when I went back to get my check he gave me all kinds of crap about not returning my associate manual, because "it has all kinds of our store policies in it." Like what? Don't harass people and we get paid every 2 weeks? And threatened to hold my check because I signed papers saying I would return it, when I know I signed nothing like that. I'm quite rambly this morning!

Nope. I did work a temp job with no definite time limit and when my assignment was over, it kind of felt like I was being laid off, even though I knew the time limit was up.

Technically, no. I took an Office Skills trade when I was 17-years-old and my school sent me a really small adult college to gain some "work experience." If I was "good enough" I could get hired full-time. The president and vice-president deemed me too "inexperienced" for the job and stopped my assignment. Since it was technically just school, I don't consider it a fire. It's really bad to feel rejected like that, though.

No, never. Though I do know people who say that you should get fired at least once. I don't see the benefit. I am just glad I never screwed up so badly, or someone was so fed up with me that they wanted me gone.

Yep, and it was scandalous. I was a young college student. :)

I said yes but it was me quitting after a disagreement with my boss, saying this was my two week notice and he said don't come back. Unemployment agreed with me that it that I had cause to quit since I collected unemployment and won their appeal.

nope, and never laid off either once (in highschool) i wosked retail during the Christmas rush and wasn't one of the two people chosen to stay on past January and i felt dejected at the time because i wasn't used to being second-rate but then again i have never hated a job more and there's a reason they didn't choose me...i hated the job so much that i didn't try and it obviously was a blessing in disguise!!

I was transferred once from one location to another and it felt like I was being fired. I felt so rejected. Luckily I have never really been fired or I would have been even more upset.
