I'm Asking: What's Your Take on Kelly Cutrone?

I'm Asking: What's Your Take on Kelly Cutrone?

Kelly Cutrone's been getting some serious media attention, thanks to her new Bravo reality series, Kell on Earth, set to air in February. Since her appearances on The City and The Hills, Kelly's become pretty famous, or infamous, for her no-frills, no-fuss, all-business approach to fashion PR and running her own company, the uber-successful People's Revolution.

She sets a high bar in the working world, but positive reinforcement and encouragement aren't really her thing. You're more likely to see her scolding staff members with a lashing of profanity, if her part on The City has been any indication of the way she works. It definitely makes for interesting TV, but what about Kelly as a real-life business woman? Do you admire her tough-as-nails approach or think her attitude needs a major adjustment?

I love this woman!! I only wish I had a mentor like her when I was starting out in my career. I can't blame her for having that "tough-as-nails" approach with her staff. Many young people in the workforce think they deserve more for doing less when in reality, it takes a lot of hard work to be successful. I'm sure Kelly encourages the staff members that deserve it...or that she likes- BUT "mean" Kelly definitely makes for better TV.

I think, katiedid, that maybe the fashion world requires MORE of a "tough as nails" approach to weed out the people that think it will be all fun parties and no work. My take is that the fashion industry attracts people who may think it's just all rainbows and puppies... and you need someone who is uber tough to reign them in.

While I understand the working world is hard and you have to deliver and all I don't understand why everyone has to be so "tough as nails" and basically mean to one another to get things done. You don't have to coddle them, but you don't have to be borderline abusive either.
