After Pat comes out of the mental hospital, just about everyone in his circle is rooting for him. His parents take him in and reject their nosy neighbors, and his friend Ronnie invites him to his first dinner out. And then there are Tiffany's protective parents, who let her stay in their back house and try to keep men from bothering her. Both families want their children to get back on their feet. The point: even in adulthood, everyone can use a little help now and then, and there's nothing wrong with accepting it.
