Cute and Easy DIY Dollar Store Pumpkin Decoration

Oct 26 2014 - 7:00am

This may be the easiest and cutest way to make a Halloween [1] decoration on the cheap. Head to the dollar store for plastic pumpkins and foam stickers for a project you can do on your own or enjoy with your niece or nephew. You can cover the pumpkin with spooky spiders or write out a simple message for an All Hallows' Eve decoration that can be enjoyed year after year.

What You'll Need:

Directions:

  1. Pick out a few foam stickers to use for decorating the pumpkin. The dollar store has tons of options, from letters, to creepy-crawly bugs, to skulls and crossbones.

  1. Cover your workspace with newspaper to protect it from the paint. Acrylic paint can stain, so donning old duds is a good idea, too. Position the stickers on the pumpkin, and then cover the outside of the pumpkin with paint. Either black or white creates a nice decoration. Once dry, give the gourd a second coat and touch up as needed.

  1. Let the pumpkin fully dry for at least an hour, and then carefully remove the stickers, revealing the cute design! Pop the pumpkin on your mantel or tuck on the edge of a dresser for a cute touch of Halloween.
