Reminiscing About Student Days

What Do You Miss the Most About Being a Student?

Back-to-school season always makes me nostalgic about my student days. There are lots of things I miss, such as interesting lectures, the ability to choose when my classes will be (vs. the same 9 to 5 grind every day), and having the time to meet up with friends during the weekdays. However, I certainly don't miss the stressful exams and noisy dorms.

How about you? What do you miss most about being a student?

Learning something every day. I have to say though that my college was awful, and I absolutely don't miss a single other thing. And I don't feel I even learned that much.

Although I'm still technically a student, I truly miss being an undergrad. Nothing was high-pressure (although I may have thought it was). I could wander when I didn't have classes or anything else I needed to do. Now when I'm not working I just want to go to sleep cause I'm so exhausted! Alas, a day in the life of an adult.

I miss school/life balance. I could schedule classes during times when I can actually be awake and sleep during the day. Now I'm a "9-to-5"-er regardless of when I need my siestas.

I miss having free time. When I was done with assignments and studying I had the leisure to relax and spend time with friends, as an adult in the creative field I feel like my personal projects, freelance projects and full-time work it just never ends so I can truly relax care-free.

I had less responsibility and I didn't worry about the future as much. I was just more carefree back then. I"m considering going back to school, but even then it's just not going to be the same.

Being able to focus 100% of my energies on something I loved. I was a theatre major and the last 2 years of college were nothing but performance classes and projects. It was heaven. Being a regional actor, I have to work a day job and audition on my lunch breaks and request time off for filming. I miss doing scene work all day.
