It looks as though Amazon Prime is about to get a little competition. Walmart is planning to launch their own subscription fast-shipping service [1] this year. After a tough year for the company of trying to revamp their ecommerce business, they're hoping that the site will be a success.
Here's what we know about the service so far:
- It will cost $50 per year. Amazon Prime costs $99 per year.
- It won't include some of Amazon's services like free video and music streaming.
- Products will arrive in three days or less.
- The service offers over one million products.
We're a little skeptical — the new effort will have to be pretty amazing in order for Prime members to switch over. We're looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
