I second that Estelle! You said exactly what I was thinking. Gosh it's tough.

I try but it's hard. My bills aren't always the same and my paychecks aren't always the same. Plus, it's depressing because I'm always under no matter what, and I would just rather not think about that!

I just implemented a budget thing. I put together a thing on Excel with everything I have to pay each month, what percentage of my check it is and when I type in how much I made it tells me how much I have left over. So far it's really helped.

Being raised poor and having my own business in my late 20's have discipline me to be budget-conscious all the time. Especially at these times, it's really necessary to spend your money wisely. Plus, my husband and I are saving for a secure future so that we can retire early , preferably at 55 yrs. old. Right now, we're both 40.

Yes, I follow a strict budget. I went off the budget two weeks ago to buy myself a birthday gift. Sephora - is like death. I am now banning myself until the holidays.

also i think there's a distinction between following a budget and paying bills..i pay all of my bills on time and have zero debt but don't follow a budget..could i save more? hell yes..i am bad about saving.

I love my budget - it frees up money for clothes, travel, and fun! Seriously, without it I'd save everything and be a total wet blanket.

Yes, I follow a budget. I know what bills are due each pay period and have the money come out of my bank account on payday. I have to include dunkin donuts in my budget and lunches. I try to bring my lunch a few times a week.

Routinely. Like clockwork. When your juggling debt with accounts overseas, you have to. Paying bills back home is so much easier when they are all paid on time, as then i dont have to stay up all night to make an international call during their business hours. Most of my money goes on bills anyway...

yes...doesn't everyone!? I mean, sometimes I slip up but it's usually because of something that i didn't expect (liek my radiator blowing!!!).

i try to follow a budget, and i have to say that as i've gotten older - it's become a lot easier for me. now i usually take out money at the beginning of the week, and that's all that i have to spend - and it's worked well so far. i've even realized that i'm able to reduce the amount that i take out so i'm not over-spending as much. i wish that i could cut my expenses even more so that i could really start to save. i guess it's all in due time.

No budget- I just try to spend as little unnecessarily money as possible . . .i.e. shopping (have plenty of clothes already), movies (they usually aren't good and/or eventually come out on Netflix), excessive drinking (luckily it only takes one cocktail for me to be buzzed), driving a car outside of my means (I LOVE my Civic and it's gas mileage) . . .etc

Generally, yes, but there is usually at least one moderate splurge a week--dinner or whatever.

For the most part, yes. I'm pretty good with my money... and have a happy medium between liking to spend and save!
