Whether you're in college, living on your own away from your hometown, or starting a family of your own, the notion of "going home for the holidays" is a yearly tradition that many of us hold dear. No matter how old we are or how long it's been since we've moved away, there's something sentimental about spending the holidays at home that sparks the kid-like tendencies in all of us. Some obvious go-tos are spending all day in your PJs watching holiday movies, eating your favorite comforting meals like Campbell's Condensed Tomato Soup and grilled cheese, or spending time with your mom decorating the house with all the familiar decor you've seen since you can remember.

This year, on one evening when you're not hosting or going to an all-out holiday party, spend a low-key night in with your nuclear family — maybe that means parents, grandparents, friends, or anyone else you're close to! Decorate with anything that gets you into the spirit of the season and feels extra cozy. Taper candles, pine needle garlands, and knitted throw blankets are a no-fail way to get started, along with ornaments (new and old!) and vases full of wintry-smelling greens like eucalyptus.

Make sure the meal matches the vibe you've created — warm up some Campbell's Tomato Soup and make ooey-gooey, buttery grilled cheeses for delicious dipping. Props if you get the perfect melty cheese pull! Bring your feast to the couch, snuggle up together under some comfy blankets, and turn on Hallmark for a movie marathon. Start a new tradition and watch something none of you has ever seen before, like The Christmas Club or A Christmas Miracle — because there's no better time than the holidays to make new memories with your favorite people.
