Apple's Let's Rock Event Updates

Apple's Let's Rock Event Updates

New iPod Nano's and Touches and iTunes oh my! As you can probably tell, I'm still getting over all of the exciting Apple announcements from the Let's Rock event here in San Francisco yesterday. But what about the minor details, and more importantly, the downloads? Find out some more info below in case you found yourself with a few questions after the announcements. Oh, and that cute song from the new commercial? BuzzSugar can tell you all about it!

  • The iPod Touch 2.1 software is now available for download. You can start downloading it here.
  • FYI. The Nike+ will only work with the 2nd Gen iPod Touch and not the 1st Gen iTouch, so don't even try it!
  • So you heard all great announcements from the Let's Rock event in San Francisco yesterday, but you really want to check out Steve Jobs' full keynote address. Well now you can watch it online here!

So just an update on my story: I went back to the Apple store last night and bought the LAST 8gig Iphone in stock. They transferred my number to At&t (from Tmobile) and then discovered that the Iphone was inoperable. The customer service rep told me that they could reverse the transaction (leaving me with an early-termination fee (for my 2 minute contract), and my long-time phone number would be lost OR I could take the broken iphone with me, and bring it back to exchange when they get in more phones. So, here I am, with NO phone. Thanks Apple.

I am so bummed that Nike+ won't work for 1st gen iPod Touch. I was looking forward to using it!

nv27 I would have been so mad. There's just no excuse for bad customer service anywhere you go. As far as the announcements go I am a bit underwhelmed :-/ I guess as an iPhone owner I am just no longer their target audience for iPods. I did LOVE the colors and the variety. I haven't had much time to check out iTunes 8- I have it, it looks just like my old iTunes so far ;-) I'm sure once I play with the genius feature or some of the other new ones it will seem more like a full "8" upgrade. I wonder if the 2.1 update for iPhone will allow us to Shake to Shuffle?

I agree with aistea311. Give another store a try. There are some good apple stores out there! I went to the one in Atlantic City, NJ and as busy as they were, I had employees still come up to me and ask if I needed help.

Aww, dont let one store mark the entire company. If anything, try another store. I had a very annoying day when I bought my iPhone at one store, but I went to another store they were very helpful and pleasant.

I wont be buying anything from Apple, ever again. I went to an Apple store last night and had the WORST customer service experience EVER. After noboy offered to help us for the first 1/2 hour that we browsed the store, lingering over the iphone, we went and stood in the line where one would stand to make a cash purchase. After standing in this line for a while a customer service rep changed the sign in the window to say "Iphones are not available today." Then he proceeded to tell the 5 people in line waiting to buy the iphones that they were sold out. I asked for a manager and explained that I called the store just an hour before I arrived there and was told to come in anytime before closing to purchase one and that they had "plenty" in stock. The manager went to the back and pulled out two new iphones, one for myself and one for the other guy that stuck around to talk to a manager. The manager had no reasoning for why she had just sent the customer service rep to lie to all of the customers anxiously waiting for the phones. All she said was, "Sorry about that." I chose not to buy the iphone, nor will I buy another ipod. Im sure Apple won't miss my business, but I wont support a company that is going to treat customers that poorly. P.S. This is the second time Ive had horrible service at an Apple store. The first time they sold me a laptop that had been previously opened and re-sealed, and then gave me a hard time about wanting to exchange it. I had to explain the situation to 5 people at the Apple store before they finally proceeded with the exchange transaction.
