The water in that glass Bill Gates is drinking from? It was poop once. The Microsoft founder is putting his support behind a game-changing innovation that turns feces into delicious, drinkable H20 and energy. It's called the Omniprocessor, a steam-engine-powered machine that treats and boils feces, and ultimately turns that human excrement into liquid.

As it turns out, poop and the way communities deal with it is a very important issue. Contaminated water kills roughly 700,000 children [2] annually, because many developing countries don't actually treat sewage. Some even burn the feces for fuel, which requires a massive amount of energy. The Omniprocessor can generate its own energy and turn the waste into an invaluable resource.

Mr. Gates recently went onto Jimmy Fallon [3]'s show to promote the Omniprocessor and tricked the late night host into drinking poop water. Watch his hilarious reaction below.
