How many of us wonder what our parents were like as youngsters? For one Oregon-based art director, that thought turned into a beautiful project. If I Had Known My Mother Back Then is the name of a series by Danielle Delph in which she photoshops herself into old pictures of her mom [1], Janis Thomas, who grew up in Kentucky.
"I've always wondered if my mom and I would have been friends had we grown up together. Would we be in the same classes? Would we have the same sense of humor? Would people tell us we were inseparable?" writes 25-year-old Delph on her website [2]. "After seeing myself in her childhood photos, I'm pretty sure we would have been great friends."
It's not the first time Photoshop has been used for a heartwarming project [3] — and it certainly won't be the last.
