Do You Keep Personal Photos On Your Work Desk?

To be honest, I actually don't have any photos on my desk. It's not that I'm consciously trying to keep my workzone "personal pic free," its just that I'm a total clutterphobe who tries to keep desktop items to a bare minimum. I swear I'm open to the possibility of having a simple frame with a photo or two. The folks over at Dating Dames recently said having personal photos on your desk can give a boss or fellow employees a glimpse of your personal life, and have therefore decided to keep their personal lives separate from the office. Now I want to know your two cents: Do you keep a photo of friends, family and flames on your desk at work?Source

Of course! Looking at my hubby helps me to get through the rough patches in my day. That is if he wasn't grumpy to me that morning before he left for work. :)

Sometimes I'll keep cuddly toys on my desk or whatever, they help to ground me on a bad day. Personal photos.. maybe. I don't like to see them on other people's desks so why should anybody want to see them on mine? Sometimes you do just need to draw the line between personal and work-related in order to maintain your sanity.

I've got pictures of my family and friends as wallpaper and a screensaver on my computer, but I don't do much else. I just don't take too many pictures, anyway.

Yes, I have a picture of my son. But what I tend to do is put up the pictures of co-workers kids that they feel they need to give to me. So instead of saying no thanks, I just post them in my cube, because I would never take them home or put them in my wallet.

I have so many photos on my desk! My kids, husband and even my dogs! I think as long as the photos are not showing any risque behavior and are clean, there shoould not be a problem with having them on your desk.

I have my own desk and office, so I keep a few personal things but not so much with the photos. I have one photo of me and my husband, which is enough. People are nosy here and they drive me nuts.

I like to personalize my space, but had to tone it down a bit since it was getting to be too much.

I used to have my desk covered with pictures. But my work environment got hostile and nasty, so I took my pictures home. I don't want my coworkers to have any knowledge of my personal life at their disposal anymore. And it helps me to solidify the mentality that this place (my current job) is not my home and thus, not necessary to get comfortable here.

when i first got my current job, my boss was nagging me to personalize my space. so i brought in 3 frames and 3 other photos i have taped up. some are of my wedding and others are just of my friends & i.

I'm pretty obsessively minimal, so I don't keep any personal things on my desk. I like keeping all my personal collections (photos, music, videos, art, etc...) virtually on my laptop. But I think living in an urban area where you don't have a lot of space also plays a part.

All of my coworkers are just looknig for stepping stones to get up that corporate ladder, so I really don't want them knwoing anymore about my personal life than i tell them. I do keep my pics online so that I can lok at them wheneer i want, and rotate pics as my desktop background.

I have a bulletin board which has some personal stuff on it but no pictures of people. Most of my desk/corner decor has a Snoopy theme.

Not since I resigned from a company 3 years ago and had to pack all that crap up!

I have one, mainly because my desk is small. Just a clear block with a picture from our wedding that includes my husband's daughter. I would put another up, but there is just not room for it. I also have a small pot with ivy, and keep it trimmed back so it doesn't take over. I have to have something green.

I'm a student currently interning, so putting a load of pictures up for a 10 week placement seems a little silly... If I was in a permanent job (and I was allowed) I would though. Just a few to make it more homey! Maybe Casasugar needs to do a cubicle pimping article?!

The more pictures, drawings and toys you have at your desk the better... Gives me something to look at when I'm fixing your computers and waiting for stuff to install. I've been seeing pictures of peoples kids and family for up to 7 years. When I occasionally meet these people I feel like I know them. They think I'm the over friendly geek that fixes their mom's computer, they don't know I've been seeing their pics since they were 10 years old ;-)
