Here's the Right Way to Repost Instagram Photos

Download of the Day: Pidgin

Attention all you Windows users, if you want to use something that's a step-up from Trillian, there's a new chat program called pidgin, which claims to be the latest and greatest multi-instant messenger client.

Featured on Chip Chick, Pidgin can log you into all your IM networks simultaneously, so whether or not you use AIM, ICQ, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE or Zephyr - Pidgin has got you covered.

To learn how to post your favorite sites to the Download of the Day group,

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

  1. First of all, join the Download of the Day group
  2. Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
  3. Choose "Blog"
  4. Give your photo a Title
  5. Leave the category as "general"
  6. Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
  7. Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Download of the Day")
  8. Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
  9. A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
  10. Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
  11. The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
  12. Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
  13. Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the download, do it before the code that has appeared.
  14. Click Submit

So join the Download of the Day group and share information about all your favorite downloads! Yours just might end up on the geeksugar homepage!

How's this better than Trillian? It looks like a Trillian Lite. Does it have the features and skins that Trillian does? The pic listed doesn't make me want to go through the hassle of switching...

I use Adium here as well. I can't get over its customizability.

I love Adium! I wish it was Windows compatible though (I use AIM, and I hate the ads!)

pssst... pidgin is/was GAIM, an instant message client that's been around awhile. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pidgin_(software)
