If we had an emoji keyboard, this entire article would be written in little hearts, sassy dancers, and smiley poops. Alas, there is no such keyboard on the market . . . yet. If this Kickstarter [1] has anything to do with it, though, Mac users everywhere will soon be able to switch between regular typing and emoji.
Go ahead and wipe away those tears of joy — we can wait.
"Our silicone keyboard cover + custom keyboard software brings the joy and expressive power of emoji to your Mac computer. Whether you are writing an email, or surfing the net, you can access over 150 of your favorite emoji without interrupting your flow," wrote Disk Cactus [2], the group behind the Kickstarter. After testing out prototypes for a few months, the Oakland, CA-based tech group is ready to roll out the emoji keyboard to consumers, but it needs enthusiasts like you to fund the project. More than $16,000 has been pledged for the keyboard costs so far, but the project will only be funded if $20,000 is raised by April 9.
Check out these photos of the emoji keyboard, and join the crowdfunding effort [3] if you're so inclined. (Insert kissy face emoji!)
