Geek Gift Guide: Top Picks For Your Guy

What do you get the guy that has everything this holiday season? Contrary to what you might hear elsewhere, he doesn’t need a Musical Companion for his iPod, and while clean air is nice, he probably won't even open that air purifier. My picks for gadgets that will leave even the geekiest fella (and his friends) in awe of your awesome gift-giving abilities:

1. Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset

This handy headset will allow your sweetie to use his phone and other handheld devices without wires or hands, which means he’ll be less distracted when he's driving. Check his gadget's model number before you buy it,$100, to make sure it's compatible.

For four more geeky picks, just

2. Stiletto 100

This portable mini satellite radio player lets you listen to live and recorded commercial-free Sirius (home of Howard Stern) almost anywhere. It stores up to 100 hours of live SIRIUS Satellite Radio programming, and can be programmed to record all his favorite music. Buy it here for $350.

3. XBox360

The 512 MB of RAM in the Xbox 360 is eight times more powerful than the original Xbox, which in manspeak means: good. It features crowd-pleasing games like Eragon and Tony Hawk and built-in wireless. Buy it here for $400.

4. Wii
Nintendo’s hottest gaming console uses wireless remotes and motion-sensory technology, which allows you to “get in the game.” He'll love its interactive games like bowling, tennis and old school games like Zelda and Mario Brothers. It’s priced at $250, but soldout of stores in minutes. If you're willing to shell out a little more, you can get it on eBay or Craigslist. It's worth it.

The wii ships with one remote, which is fine for bowling, however you're probably going to want to get another wireless one for all the fun, one-person games.

I had the Wii shipped to his parents house that way he wont find it here and we open gifts there anyways, so should I just call them and ask them what the box says?

Okay, so GeekSugar, each player that plays boxing will need 2 controllers right? So does the Wii come with 2? and plus my one is 3? So I will only need 1 more? What about bowling, only one needed for that right? Oooh so many questions. What to do. What to do.

I got my bf the XBOX 360 too... I can't wait to give it to him... What's the Nunchuck????

Hey Laylacams, I suggest getting two remotes - if you can find another one - because the boxing game is amazing and you'll love playing it with him. If you want to go all out, the Nunchuck isn't a bad idea either. Purplesugar is right, he's lucky...and you're smart.

GeekSugar, I have a question. My husband is getting the Wii for Xmas (shh, he doesnt' know) and I want to make sure that he will have everything so he's able to play it that day. Is everything included. I got him the Zelda game and an extra wireless remote. Should I buy the nunchuck(?) thing for it or is it included?

i've heard to stay far away from the zune. my guy needs a new mp3 player, and i wanted to see how he reacted to different models to see what he wanted, so i said, "hey, that zune looks pretty cool" and he told me that it sucks because they put some sort of copyright restrictions on it or something. i really don't know what it's about, but i got him an ipod instead. and i'm not a mac girl, either!
