If you're still contemplating buying an Apple Watch and wondering if you can somehow afford the gold model [1], there are now two services that will gold-plate your watch [2] for under $10,000.
The first option is from Watch Plate [3], which, for $399, will gold-plate a stainless steel Apple Watch that you need to purchase yourself first. The entire process only takes three days and comes with FedEx shipping information to make it as effortless as possible. The options also include plating it in 24 karat rose gold or 24 karat yellow gold.

Next is the pricier and even less-involved service from Golden Dreams [4]. Instead of buying an Apple Watch yourself and shipping it, Golden Dreams offers a variety of already-gold-plated Apple Watches. The smaller version of the watch at 38mm costs $3,450, and the bigger, 42mm model costs $3,550. You can choose 24 karat yellow gold, 18 karat rose gold, or 18 karat white gold, as well as ask for a hand engraving. Oh! And if that's not luxurious enough, the company can also replace the band with alligator, python, ostrich, or shark straps.

However, as Watch Plate noted, there's no word yet on whether either of these services voids the watch's Apple Warranty. So maybe you're better off buying the cheaper version of the Apple Watch or, you know, just sticking with the iPhone for now.
