Despite appearing in countless forms — from fan art [1] to fancy illustrations [2] — J.K. Rowling's beloved Harry Potter characters have never appeared in comic form (at least not officially). However, Rowling recently approved a stunning comic to benefit those affected by the shooting at Orlando's Pulse nightclub.
Love Is Love is a comic anthology [3] created by DC Comics, IDW Publishing, and more than 200 writers and illustrators. All of the proceeds will directly benefit the survivors of the horrific shooting. The anthology features iconic characters like Superman and Catwoman and now, thanks to Rowling — it will also feature Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Dumbledore.

This specific comic, shown above, was drawn by Jim Lee. It depicts the franchise's central characters with Professor Albus Dumbledore, who Rowling later confirmed was gay [6]. Together, their wands light up the sky with a magical rainbow flag.
In the anthology, the comic will appear alongside a quote from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which reads: "Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open."
You can pre-order Love Is Love [7] now for $10. It will be officially released sometime in late 2016.
