Instagram Video Looping

Instagram Videos Are Now on Loop

Instagram videos can't stop, won't stop for anyone. The photo sharing platform's new update, out now, turns 15-second Instagram videos into endlessly looping, Vine-like GIFs with audio. Not only do the videos auto-replay, they can no longer be paused. In the mobile app, tapping will only turn on the audio. Thankfully, in the desktop version of the app, you can pause the animation.

Why the change? Instagram introduced ads last year, and the new auto-replay mode might ensure that users won't miss ads in the stream. It could also be because Instagram wants to be that much more competitive with Vine, which is the platform of choice for some of the funniest comedians on the web. In conclusion, yes, you will have to endure that video over and over again while you draft that long comment.
