Labyrinth Magic Dance

Labyrinth Day — Do the Magic Dance!

Twenty-five years ago today, Labyrinth, the fantasy film directed by Jim Henson and produced by George Lucas, first appeared on the silver screen. Now a cult classic thanks to David Bowie's musical numbers as Jareth the Goblin King and the frantic labyrinth race of an adolescent Jennifer Connelly to save her baby brother from turning into a puppet goblin.

In honor of Labyrinth's anniversary, a clip breakdown of the catchiest Jareth song, "Magic Dance." Enjoy!

Love this movie! What's up with the witch house slow-mo part in the clip though? I'm trying to dance!

And as a special extra-geek moment, I believe the ballroom scene was choreographed by Gates McFadden, Star Trek: The Next Generation's Dr. Crusher.

Totally fell in love with Bowie when I saw this! Introduced it to my daughter many years later and she also agrees that it's an awesome movie :)

SUCH a great movie! I have friends who refuse to listen to Bowie music because they were so afraid of him in this film.

This movie terrified me. And I saw it when I was 21.
