Love It or Leave It? Color Changing Bus Stop

Geek trends across the globe seem to be popping up everywhere! If you ever go to Hamburg, Germany keep your eyes peeled for their latest techie installments: Color-changing bus shelters. Designed by Hadi Teherani, these Landmark Bus Stops contain lighting systems that will change colors to provide alternating light and moods at night. Featured on Yanko Design, this new-age bus stop is apart of a product family that has been developed for the city in order "convey a harmonious overall image of the urban area." Since most of you loved the light-up park benches, I'm wondering if you'll love this as well.

such an awesome idea

If it changed color based on how long the wait was until the next bus arrival, well that would be useful and beautiful.

I definitely like it but, the designer needs to consider more bench space. i really hate waiting for the bus for more than 15 minutes and not having a place to sit because there is only like three spots.

i think it's a good idea -- might sound a bit corny to some but at the same time it's sort of a safehouse at night! i'd much rather stand in a booth that lights up at night waiting than i would in one that's dark ... and gloomy...

I agree with prettywarrior. I doubt one of these would last very long in the States anyway. People always ruin a good thing!

Unless it changes color when the bus is approaching, it's useless. But if the colors meant something, then it would be cool.

I love the idea, but a couple of days where I live and the vandals would soon destroy it... When I was in Germany everything was wonderful and clean though, so I can see them working well there.

i don't like it - there's too much light pollution in urban areas as it is!

I'm sure it would be fun the first time, and then I would be indifferent about it. I find bus shelters are vandalized way too much, so I don't know if I would support a city putting extra money into this (unless they were in a high traffic area).

Something interesting to look at while waiting for the bus!
