While there are some great laptop bags on the market, many of us - particularly women - end up transporting our laptops in our large bags. Sure, I protect my laptop with a sleeve, but I usually opt to fit it into whatever bag I am using for the day rather than carry a large official laptop carrier. Following that idea, Apartment Therapy's Home Tech site has a couple of bags that are summery, unique and made by designers in third world countries. The Postal Bag is a fully-lined messenger bag with raw edges, magnetic snap closures, and two inside pockets. It's bright red and being sold for $70 by a designer who grew up in South Africa. Also neat-looking is the Wonder lust bag, $30, which is handcrafted by artisans on the island of Madagascar and in Kenya, using renewable raffia fibers found there (and is pleasantly lined with cotton). Would you substitute a unique laptop sized bag for your traditional laptop bag?
