Was the Michael Bay CES Incident Fake?

Was Michael Bay's CES Meltdown a Hoax?

It was the CES flop heard round the country. Yesterday, Hollywood director Michael Bay — known for action-packed films like Armageddon and the Transformers movies — suddenly walked off the stage at the Consumer Electronics Show during Samsung's new TV presentation. The reason? A supposed teleprompter malfunction that made him freeze up.

The video of the incident immediately went viral, and Bay wrote on his blog that he was embarrassed: "I guess live shows aren't my thing."

Along with the rest of the Twitterverse, actor Seth Rogen joined in to poke fun at the movie mogul.

And of course, the meltdown spawned memes.

But, another look at the video, and there's no way to tell if the whole thing was real. Even a few Twitter users called out the conspiracy theory.

Especially after all the viral hoaxes that went down last year, we're not believing anything so easily. The interaction between Bay and Samsung Executive Vice President Joe Stinziano does feel a little forced, but who knows for sure? Chime in and tell us what you think!
