New 7-Inch iPad Rumors

Rumor Alert: A New, Smaller iPad Could Be Here in Early 2011

Just days after the announcement of Samsung's Galaxy Tab, one analyst is reporting that Apple may be coming out with a 7-inch iPad, and that it may be ready as soon as early next year. The analyst, who cites conversations with Apple's suppliers, predicts such a product will launch to better compete with the smaller-sized devices and appeal to consumers who feel the current 9.7-inch screen on the iPad is too large. Find out what else the new iPad could be packing when you read more.

The new iPad will support FaceTime, meaning it's going to come loaded with a front-facing camera, too. There's obviously no word from Apple on this rumor, so there are no confirmed details. But if this analyst is correct, I assume that a mini iPad (do you think they'd call it iPad Mini?) would cost less than the current model, which starts at $500.

Cool. Still don't think I'll get one, but my dad did (jokingly) ask for one! LOL. Maybe if they're cheaper I'll actually be able to get him one.

There is also the rumor that Apple might be working overtime to try and release this 7" iPad model by the holiday shopping season this year. So, fingers-crossed and either situation, a great product will be released. (Side note: the Samsung Galaxy and the other iPad "killers" cause me to laugh as Samsung and specifically the Android platform are not streamlined. Whereas Apple is the only one to touch the mechanics of their Apple product; all of the apps and updates match-up. However Android uses varying carriers (with carriers alterations) and platform types causing a mismatch in system sleekness and performance. Still better than Microsoft so I guess they have to get points for that. :Oy: )

You know, I'm over the ipad. This does sound like good news, but I'd rather buy a nintendo wii ($199+) than an ipad ($500+). Plus, I have an ipod touch, so...bye bye ipad :)
