Following Apple's recent product launches [1], it looks like Amazon is taking this time to improve its own devices. Amazon announced a new Fire HD 8 tablet [2] that — apart from its many other improvements — will also offer Alexa, the brand's own virtual voice service and answer to Apple's Siri.

- You can't beat the price: Starting at $90 (and $120 for the 32GB option) this tablet is significantly cheaper than Apple's tablets which range from $269 to $799.
