If you're an iPhone owner, there's a pretty good chance you have already downloaded many of the most popular apps for your device, but who has the time to search through thousands of apps available in the App store? It's like looking for a diamond in the rough.
Apple routinely spotlights certain apps suited for different purposes, including an App of the Week. But for another opinion, check out the brand new App Hall of Fame, created and curated by top app developers.
The hall of fame spotlights 12 different apps each month, “no matter if they have sold six million or 600 copies." The only criteria is that the apps have been available for at least six months. Initial inductees include a few usual suspects: Pandora, Shazam, and Instapaper, plus a few apps I've heard of but haven't tried, like Flight Control.
You can even score copies of some of these Hall of Fame apps for free — just sign up for the mailing list for your chance to win them. App selections are currently focused on iPhone and iPod Touch, though the creators plan to include iPad apps soon.
