New York Comic-Con proved this weekend that the finest cosplay creations [1] aren't just found on the West Coast. The event drew a record-breaking 150,000 attendees [2], considerably more than the 130,000-plus attendees in San Diego last July for Comic-Con [3].

After San Diego Comic-Con attendees fought back against sexual harassment [4], NYCC posted large "Cosplay Is Not Consent" signs [5] reminding fans to ask before taking photos that appeared throughout the hall to help keep the convention a safe place for attendees to express themselves and their fandoms through cosplay.
