This 1 Picture Sums Up Parenting Today

Dec 4 2015 - 7:45pm

Growing up as a kid these days is pretty awesome — i.e. reading on a Kindle, playing Angry Birds on the iPad, carrying around a smartphone at the tender age of 6, and having plenty of other high-tech toys to play with. While some parents feel they might be in a losing battle consistently getting outsmarted by their children and technology, the viral image above is presenting a new way to gain some high ground.

The photograph, which includes a set of chores that must be finished before receiving the WiFi password for the day, is a clever idea. Though resetting the WiFi password every day might seem like a hassle, it's a way to teach discipline to your kids while also reminding them a world does exist outside of a screen. Besides, looking at comments on the Reddit thread [1] where this image was posted, people agree that it might even inspire a career idea in their kid.

Either way, this is one small victory for parents while they fumble around wondering which emoji is the right one to use in a text.
