Pokémon Go [1] is the game that keeps on giving, whether it's helping users with depression and stress [2] or promoting physical activity [3]. Now, it's also helping small businesses, like an ice cream shop called Mad Hatter's Ice Cream in Anacortes, WA, that has a second life now thanks to the game [4].
According to King 5, shop owner Gary Dear had to shut his business down in June [5] due to a neurological disorder. He reopened it shortly after when Pokémon Go first released [6], and business has never been better. Users have been stopping by for ice cream while visiting the multiple Pokéstops [7] around Gary's shop and dropping Lures to bring in more Pokémon.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expected it to end up like this," Gary said to King 5 [8].
