Retail reports after last week's Black Friday shopping day are mixed. While actual visits to stores were higher than last year, shoppers spent less money than they did in 2008. The good news for retailers: people spent more money online shopping on Black Friday than last year. Dollars spent are up 35 percent, and customers bought an average of 18 percent more items per order.
While most of you preferred a mix of both online and in-store holiday shopping, the rest would rather shop online only than strictly in-person. And seeing as today is Cyber Monday, I predict online retail sites will continue to see a boost — last year's Cyber Monday sales topped $800 million.
