During its iPad event Thursday [1], Apple also announced a new addition to its iMac desktop computer line. The 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display is what Apple says is the "world's highest-resolution display." That's 67 percent more pixels than 4K TVs [2], the ultra HD TV trend that keeps growing as prices for the technology drops.
With a 5120 x 2880 resolution, the new Retina iMac is seemingly created with digital artists in mind. Inside the computer is a 3.5 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, AMD Radeon R9 graphics, 8GB of memory, and a 1TB Fusion Drive.
The iMac with Retina 5K display begins shipping today for $2,499.
