You Can Totally Spill Water on Sony's New Smartphone and Tablet

Hoping to up the ante in the smartphone/tablet world, Sony just announced three new innovative devices for you to get excited about. Let's take a look at them, shall we?

Xperia Z2 Smartphone

First up is the Xperia Z2, an upgrade to its predecessor with more powerful internal processing power. Consider this model a camera, camcorder, and waterproof smartphone all in one. Because it integrates Sony's recording technologies, you can expect 4K high-definition video recording and built-in noise canceling for all those videos sure to go viral.

As for style, you'll get the same glass panel and aluminum frame design as the Z1, except with a larger 5.2-inch display featuring Live Colour LED. Plus you can enjoy three gigabytes of RAM and longer battery life.

And now for the fun stuff: the phone comes with an introductory content offer that includes six successful movies from Sony Pictures (like Captain Phillips) through the Video Unlimited service, plus a variety of PlayStation Mobile games.

Z2 Tablet

Next we've got the Z2 Tablet, which is being touted as the thinnest and lightest waterproof tablet. Consider it a tablet version of the new smartphone, since it has many of the same features as the Xperia Z2 — a display with Live Colour LED, three gigabyts of RAM, and digital noise canceling technology for the ultimate entertainment experience. Not to mention, it comes with a Bluetooth speaker dock and handset, plus a battery life that can last up to 10 hours of multimedia use.

Xperia M2 Smartphone

When it comes to more affordable devices, Sony's hoping to attract midrange Android costumers with its Xperia M2 smartphone.

It promises the same fast, premium experience, thanks to a high-quality eight-megapixel camera, a 4.8-inch qHD display resolution, long-lasting battery life, excellent processor performance, eight gigabytes of storage, and 4G LTE support.

The phone will also be available in a dual SIM version and will come in black, white, and purple. And like the Xperia Z2, it will come with blockbuster movies preloaded and a 30-day free trial of Music Unlimited.

The Xperia Z2 smartphone and tablet are set to launch next month, while the XperiaM2 will be available in April 2014, but no word yet on pricing. Source: Sony
