It was hard to keep track of just how many Ultrabooks were announced at this year's show, but the "smallest of them all" award goes to Acer's Aspire S5. If 2011 was all about the tablet, then 2012 is all about the Ultrabook.
Was 2012 all about the Ultrabook? Not quite. Though more portable computers did without optical drives and upped the Flash storage creating a thinner and faster mobile computing experience, tablets still remained on top. The emergence of iPad mini, Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD, and Google Nexus 7 continues to push laptops out of its former tech dominance.
