Yesterday, Twitter was briefly down, citing a 503 error (server overload!), and the Twitter world sighed. It's not exactly an uncommon occurrence.
In fact, loving Twitter means really loving it, warts and all, because when you're addicted, it's hard to come to grips with an outage (cue the line "Twitter is down! Twitter is down!").
Unfortunately, I've heard some people grumble that Twitter's service failures just make them want to quit. I don't know if I'd go that far, but I have to say, I've given up on a website out of frustration: I recently swore off a smaller invitation website when everyone I'd invited to a party got constant 500s, some so much that they could never RSVP.
What about you? Have the failures of a website ever frustrated you to the point of quitting?
