24 Tweets About the Harriet Tubman $20 Bill News That Are Beyond Accurate

Apr 24 2016 - 9:00am

The internet has been reeling — or, rather, thriving — since the historic announcement [1] that abolitionist Harriet Tubman will take Andrew Jackson's place on the $20 bill. This also means that Tubman will be the first woman to appear on American paper currency in more than 100 years — Martha Washington's brief appearance on a $1 silver certificate in the 1880s being the last.

The reactions on Twitter have been ranging from emotion-riddled gleeful to downright hilarious — but nonetheless thoughtful — social commentary. Keep reading for some of our favorite reactions that drop all the #facts.
