Website of the Day: Get Human

Thanks to TeamSugar user lintacious who submitted the Get Human website to geeksugar's Website of the Day group!

Get Human allows you to search a database filled with contact numbers and shortcut keys for 500 different companies so you don't get stuck talking to an automated operator for an hour. It's music to my ears! This is what lintacious had to say about it:

"I do this all the time when I call T-Mobile. It's great, someone will answer and say I am sorry for the long wait time. I just laugh, since I waited for less than a minute. Not only does it save time, but also frustration!"

To learn how to post your favorite sites to the Website of the Day group, just

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

  1. First of all, join the Website of the Day group
  2. Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
  3. Choose "Blog"
  4. Give your photo a Title
  5. Leave the category as "general"
  6. Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
  7. Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day")
  8. Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
  9. A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
  10. Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
  11. The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
  12. Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
  13. Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the website, do it before the code that has appeared.
  14. Click Submit

So join the Website of the Day group and share information about all of your favorite sites! Yours just might end up on the geeksugar homepage!

Haha, thanks a lot. I always hate having to deal with the computers. People can be irritating, but it's much easier figuring things out when you can actually talk to someone.

I've been using it for some time and it's worth it weight in gold. Ustadidbe, you could just keep hitting zero, but then the companies realized a lot of us had figured that out. Two other tips, don't hit anything (that can trick it into thinking you have a rotary phone) or opt for Spanish (the operators speak English too and the wait is usually less, just tell them you hit the wrong button and ask your question).
