The US Treasury finally decided to include women on American paper money, announcing that a female historical figure [1] would score a spot on the $10 note in 2020. This comes after many women originally lobbied for a female to be featured on the $20 bill. It's not going unnoticed, especially by vocal people on the Internet. We saw a lot of cheeky reactions to this government decision on Twitter, but one stands out from the rest for its witty honesty:
Let's put a woman on the $0.78.

Referencing the wage gap between men and women — in which women make 78 cents for every dollar earned by a man — Twitter user Irin Carmon pointed out that the United States has a long way to go before reaching complete monetary gender equality (especially considering that Alexander Hamilton will remain on the $10 bill, either on the reverse side or in a separate version of the bill).
