This Is Your Go-To Email Signature Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Jul 24 2020 - 9:05am

If nothing else, 2020 has proved that humans are adaptable. We've learned to bake banana bread [1], practice social distancing, and wear masks [2] (right, y'all?). For all our resilience, mastering one skill still remains slightly up in the air: working from home [3] effectively.

It's not hard to understand why. In recent months, many people have swapped ergonomic desks and watercooler talk for couches and awkward Zoom calls. We turn small corners of our homes and backyards into makeshift office spaces [4], have gotten really good at dressing from the waist up for meetings, and have bonded with our pets more than ever before. Sure, it can be stressful sometimes, but we roll with it because, really, what else can we do? Through all of these changes, I'm willing to bet one thing has stayed the same: your email signature. How you sign off on emails can say a lot about who you are, and even just a word or two can provide a window into your personality. Keep reading for every zodiac sign [5]'s email signature, and just try not to laugh at the accuracy.

Aries (March 21-April 19): Nothing

Your Aries coworker never means to be rude, but their impatient tendencies result in lackluster sign-offs. They're a go-getter with little time to hit the "enter" key and a few extra letters. Despite their tendency to be terse, they bring the fun to any office get-together. Remember that for your next mandatory team builder.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): "Warm regards"

"Warm regards" is friendly but safe, much like Taureans themselves. At their core, a Taurus is pragmatic and has no desire to deviate from standard email practice. Their inclusion of "warm" indicates that they're approachable — just not approachable enough to include any semblance of a personal message.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): "Thanks so much!"

Ah, Gemini. So fun, so clever, and . . . a little passive-aggressive. On the surface, "Thanks so much!" reads like your bubbly Gemini coworker is grateful for your help, but they might actually be a little annoyed that you've taken more than a day to respond and will drive that point home with their somewhat hostile exclamation point.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): "Hope all is well!"

Cancer is the rare coworker who will send you a Snickers bar after they see you having a breakdown in a meeting. When they say, "Hope all is well," they really mean it.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): "Cheers!"

Let's clarify something: the Leo in this scenario is not British or Australian. That's why your attention-seeking pal's signature can be a little jarring. "Cheers," like Leo, is bold and unique. They're the first to arrive at the virtual happy hour and the last to leave. You respect them for that.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): "Please consider the environment before printing this email."

Virgo is the office parent. They're responsible and efficient, but might be prone to more outmoded forms of thinking. When you suggest they change their email signature from this, they gamely take your advice and update it to an Albert Einstein quote.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): "All the best"

Libras are fixated on building relationships, and "All the best" reflects that. It's well-balanced — professional tempered with warmth and charm. "All the best" feels like a greeting from a close friend.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): "Thanks"

Scorpios can be a little intimidating, but their ambition and drive makes them incredibly effective colleagues. Their deliverables are impeccable, their standards are high, and their patience is nonexistent. When you see a period punctuating a Scorpio's sign-off, know that they mean business.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): "Have a great day!"

Remember that virtual happy hour we mentioned earlier? Well, Sagittarius is responsible for organizing it. Sagittarians are the energizing force of the organization, and their signatures are no exception. You can't help but smile to yourself as you finish the email.

Capricorn (Dec. 20-Jan. 19): "Sent from my iPhone. Please excuse any typos."

Capricorns are the project managers of the zodiac. They love Excel, charts, and timely responses. Caps also hate spelling errors. Unfortunately for them, the errors start to pile up after they spend hours responding to emails on their phones (hence the apologetic signature). A particularly spicy Capricorn might use the variant "Sent from a really tiny keyboard."

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): "Be well"

You can practically hear your Aquarian coworker chomping on granola as they type this. "Be well" is the official sign-off of English professors and free spirits like Aquarius. Yeah, you think. Be well, Aquarius.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): "Sincerely"

Pisces are kind, empathetic, and earnest, and "Sincerely" is their go-to sign-off.
