This is the story of an iPhone that survived a free fall unharmed — a free fall from 42 stories up in the air. Back in April 2015, Photographer Catalin Marin [1] was on top of the Liberty House building in Dubai shooting the skyline when a strong wind blew his iPhone 6 down to the ground. He then used the Find My iPhone app to get it back, according to BuzzFeed [2]. Marin posted the resulting video to his Instagram page, captioning it, "I had a bit of a mishap this morning — shooting from the 40th floor, my phone decided to go for a ride into the wind. 40 floors down, not a scratch in sight! :-)"

As one of our editors commented, "How is it that my phone falls from my hand and gets destroyed but this phone falls from a BUILDING and survives?!" Perhaps the more important question, though, is: what case did he use? We reached out and will update you as soon as we hear back on this pressing matter.
Update: Marin says the case was a simple silicone cover from a company called Puro [4].
