The Matterhorn's yeti got a (terrifying) makeover for the 60th Anniversary.

New effects and animatronics will surely make you yodel in fright. I recommend sitting in the first bobsled and riding it at night for the best experience.

Take pictures with Mickey and friends in their Rihanna-inspired outfits as they shine bright like a diamond!

Tired of random people in your obligatory castle picture?

Go to the far left or right of the drawbridge entrance, and you’ll find a nice (less crowded) picture-perfect spot! Or if you still prefer the classic picture spot, get there right as the park opens or head over when the park is closing.

Leave your selfie stick at home.

They're banned from the rides! Just take in the sights and sounds yourself!

Buy the Glow With the Show ears and the paintbrush wand.

Later in the night, get ready to make some new friends or maybe even frenemies with this pair. You can change other parkgoers' ear colors with the wand! It gets pretty intense.

Make sure you have the perfect spot for Paint the Night, the 2015 version of the Electrical Parade.

Have you or someone in your party reserve your spot at least two hours ahead.

The best spot to have is at the end of Main Street, where you can view the buildings, the Matterhorn, and the castle.

• This is also the prime spot to experience the new fireworks show, Disneyland Forever, which starts 10 minutes after the parade ends.
• Be prepared to watch the show ALL AROUND YOU. The buildings on Main Street come to life with colorful and animated projections. They even miraculously grow anemones at one point! The castle and Matterhorn get transformed into various scenes. Make sure to look up to catch Nemo and Tinker Bell fly across the sky. At one point, the castle is on fire, and it starts to snow. It's pretty intense.
• But if you weren't able to watch it on Main Street, there are two other unique locations to view the fireworks! You can watch it at the Rivers of America, where they use water screens and fireworks on the water. Or you can watch it from It's a Small World and watch the ride come to life with colorful animation.

Paint the Night is more of an emotional experience than any other Disneyland parade.

• If you've seen the original Electrical Parade back in the day, this is the updated 2015 version that both kids and adults can enjoy together.
• Tinker Bell starts off the parade with her awesome glow-in-the-dark hair and outfit — watch out, pastel hair . . . glow in the dark is next!
• You'll scream in fright as the Monsters, Inc. float makes its way down, with Sulley controlling the animated doors and Mike trailing behind.
• The site of Belle and her larger-than-life, glowing ball gown will make your inner Disney princess scream, "YAAAS!!" and shed some happy tears.
• If you can't get enough of Anna and Elsa, Elsa's ice castle makes its way down with Olaf trailing right behind, because everything is cooler in Summer.
• You might need some shades for Mickey's sci-fi, DNA-looking float, as it's pretty darn mesmerizing.

World of Color is crazy intense.

• First of all . . . Neil Patrick Harris [3] "hosts" the show! That's legendary in itself! Did I mention he sings in it too?
• You pretty much travel back in time to see the very beginning of how Mickey Mouse and Walt started the Disney empire.
• The show is happening all around you. Bursts of smoke and light surround you from the viewing area!
• Walt Disney makes numerous appearances in the show, so you'll feel like he's right there in front of you!
• If you value your on-fleek eyebrows, you might want to stand as far away as possible. Flames . . . EVERYWHERE.
• A big mushroom cloud of fire bursts, and you pretty much think Disneyland blew up . . . but — spoiler alert! — it doesn't!
• Watch old and new videos from Disneyland-goers through the years as the theme song for Parenthood plays.

The Disneyland Forever fireworks show is filled with tons of details.

• This show will make you feel all the feels and see all the sees. You'll be looking in all directions for this show! Up, right, left, behind you . . . not down, though — nothing's happening on the ground.
• You are immersed in the show as projections depict your favorite Disney scenes, like Tangled and The Little Mermaid, all around you!
• Anemones magically grow from the Main Street buildings!
• The Matterhorn gets turned into a flaming Wannahockaloogie, and you'll catch Nemo swimming across the sky!
• Tinker Bell sprinkles her pixie dust as the fireworks match the songs perfectly, hitting all the right spots in your feels.
• Now you can cry from all the happiness, emotion, and the pain in your feet from walking all day.

There's more to the nighttime shows than you think.

• After the fireworks end, don't leave just yet! If you weren't already crying from the fireworks, this last emotional song sung by Ashley Brown will do the trick. Watch the lights in the sky dance and the castle twinkle as Disneyland gives you a last "Kiss Goodnight."
• If you chose to watch World of Color instead, avoid standing close to the water if you don't want to get extremely moist or have your eyebrows burned off. It sounds horrible, but the show is pretty legendary!
• Now here comes the stressful part to the end of every Disney show . . . everyone disperses! Find a bench or step to the far side of the street. Wait out the crowd. If not, your toes will be stepped on, your temper will be tested, and you will most likely get hit in the Achilles with a stroller. So be patient!
• After the shows end, this is the prime time to start lining up for the last few rides before the park closes!
