23 Surprising Items You Can't Bring Into Disneyland

May 8 2019 - 8:55am

Disneyland is a magical place [1] where dreams come true — and it's also a place you can't bring pots and pans. Yep, the park has some pretty interesting things on their banned items list, and honestly, we wonder why they had to specify these! Of course, some prohibited items make complete sense, like weapons, for instance. Find out what you can and can't bring into the park [2], and make sure to leave your selfie stick at home the next time you head to Disneyland [3].

Pets

With the exception of service animals, which are permitted. Any other pets guests bring must be kept at an on-site kennel.

Wagons, Skateboards, Scooters

Both motorized and nonmotorized! Disneyland also permits any "trailer-like object" that is pushed or towed by anything. Their site specifies that "guests are not permitted to pull items behind them. Any item that requires a guest to pull it behind him or her, including a stroller, is not permitted into the theme parks."

Glass Containers

Exceptions include baby food containers, medicine bottles, and small (under 4 oz.) perfume bottles.

Musical Instruments

Drones

In-Line Skates and Shoes With Built-In Wheels

Wrapped Gifts

All gifts must be unwrapped so that they can be inspected!

Bikes, Motocycles, Tricycles, Unicycles

Pogo Sticks

Large Strollers

Disney's update to this rule goes into effect on May 1. Strollers should be no wider than 31 inches across, a reduction from the past 36-inch limit.

Alcohol

And any illegal substances are also (obviously) prohibited!

Sporting Equipment

This includes baseball bats, helmets, camping equipment, frisbees, hockey sticks, and more.

2-Wheeled Vehicles Including Segways

Folding Chairs

With the exception of cane-chair and seat-walker mobility aids!

Suitcases, Backpacks, or Bags With Wheels

Suitcases, backpacks, and bags larger than 18" wide by 25" high by 37" deep are also prohibited.

Large Coolers

Coolers larger than 24" x 15" x 18" are not permitted.

Self Defense Equipment

Pepper spray [5], mace, stun guns, and similar items are not allowed in the park.

Laser Pointers and Other "Disruptive" Items

Disneyland bans all items that "may be disruptive" such as laser pointers, slingshots, stink bombs, and air horns.

Tools

The park also bans other "miscellaneous items" such as fire extinguishers, megaphones, and . . . pots and pans?

Restraining Devices and "Suspicious Items"

Guests can't bring devices used to restrain, such as handcuffs and zip ties, or any "suspicious items" like box cutters, razor blades, duct tape, and wire.

Cremated Remains

Urns, vases, boxes, and any containers containing cremated remains are prohibited.

Weapons

No weapons of any kind are allowed, nor are objects that appear to be weapons like toy guns, squirt guns, etc.
